President: The Best Beer, the real flavor? Why

begin this post by saying: The President is a mediocre beer, and, therefore, overstated. Its success is a blend of our ignorance, yet good job of marketing by the Dominican National Brewery.

A little history (I admit that it was never my favorite subject, Buuut case of alcohol, do the task)

Before Columbus "discovered" our piece of land, and Indians were preparing their cervesuana drinking and, as good Dominicans the end - if you can apply the term - this was based on cassava and maize. Ok. Come the English and lost many of the customs, including the brewing. In 1795

open international trade, entering, as expected, alcohol consumption by the population, although not as popular. It is not until 1822 that sets out the merchants of this wonderful liquid, ale being the most used, followed by German. The marks were Bobée, Tennents and Allsopp.

Seeing the increasing consumption of this product, the government decides to start local production and the Dominican National Brewery born in 1929. The founders determine the success of the beer should be based on the product rapport with the local environment, removing environmental international focus had beer so far. Here begins the work of Marketing.

Our first beer was launched in 1930 with the name of Columbus, then lost a little focus - and then the Queen, a few months later and still out of focus. Neither was over imported brands.

arrives then, our official sponsor of Dominican pride / the best beer, the real flavor / or whatever you call it - The President. 1935 and removed the other two brands - here continues the good marketing work. The rest is history itself. We like good

Dominicans, we are victims of marketing. What better example than the conquest of the island?! The marketing we

clouds objectivity. The president is a bitter beer and gives a terrible hangover. Its aroma is nice - it smells like vomit, and if you're a drinker, knows all too well that alcohol, food and sex, the aroma is who does most of the work. In short: a bad smell, and you know what follows. But seriously, much of the flavor that we feel to have a beer comes from the smell receptors in the nose.

But talk about a good beer or not the best beer is easy. I know many people who say that the president is the best beer in the world, Heineken is crap and the Guinness tastes like pee. Sure, Ok, I understand it well. We are a third world country that we are just being reported in the world for our players, but as we see that the President sponsors festivals in Germany, we see ads in games vs. the Yankees or Boston in the NBA ... It's like saying that Brugal is better than the Barcelo, but that is another matter.

Gentlemen, remember that we are fanatical Dominican par excellence, we take the things and more when we see people from another country to consume our products. Realdiad But that means nothing. For foreigners coming to eat rice and beans means, in case this is better than your regular food?; No, it means that they are testing our culture. I assure you, a gringo when in USA, will not ask President instead of Budwiser ...

But nothing, here are a top 20 in the world with the best beers for the year 2008 made by:
